Keynote speaker from Micron to talk about how local manufacturers can position themselves to benefit from Micron’s investment in CNY
Operation Oswego County recently announced the return of The Summit: Oswego County Manufacturing 2025, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 15, at the Cayuga Community College Fulton Campus Event Center.
The summit is designed to strengthen and elevate the county’s manufacturing ecosystem by connecting business leaders with critical resources, innovative programs and collaborative opportunities that will drive growth and sustainability for years to come. With a targeted audience of manufacturing business owners and operations leaders, the event is expected to draw more than 75 participants from across the region.
“There are many new and expanding programs at the local, state and federal levels to support the growth and retention of manufacturing businesses,” said Austin Wheelock, executive director of Operation Oswego County. “We want to make sure our manufacturers, large and small, are aware of all the resources that exist and have the technical support to seek these opportunities, which was the catalyst for creating The Summit.”
The 2025 program will feature dynamic educational sessions and panel discussions covering a wide range of issues central to manufacturing success. Topics will include financial benefits and incentives available to manufacturers, workforce support and training opportunities, employee benefit solutions, and tariff and export logistics. These sessions will provide valuable insight into both the challenges and opportunities facing Oswego County’s manufacturing community.
“As workforce demands continue to evolve, it’s essential that manufacturers are not only connected with programs that can help them fill immediate needs but are also engaged in shaping long-term solutions,” said Rachel Pierce, executive director of Oswego County Workforce New York. “The Summit provides a unique opportunity to align workforce, education, and industry efforts in a way that strengthens the entire region.”
One of the day’s most anticipated highlights will be the keynote address by Joe Nehme, senior manager of external affairs for Micron.
Nehme will present on the transformative opportunities for manufacturers in relation to Micron’s historic investment in Central New York and what this development means for the broader regional supply chain. His insights are expected to provide valuable context on how local manufacturers can position themselves to benefit from one of the most significant technology investments in U.S. history.
This event is made possible through the generous support of sponsors AmeriCu Credit Union and NBT Bank.
