TorTrax LLC Relaunches Industrial Site as Oswego Rail & Energy Park

Tormey Family-led redevelopment project positions Oswego County for advanced industry and clean energy investment

TorTrax LLC, owned by the Tormey Family, today (Sept. 18) announced the relaunch of the former ethanol facility in Volney as the Oswego Rail & Energy Park, a rebranded 135-acre industrial campus designed to attract investment in advanced manufacturing, logistics, agribusiness and bio-based innovation.

Located just outside the city of Fulton, the site features more than 300,000 square feet of process and industrial space, a grain terminal, a fuel terminal, malting facilities and robust water, power and gas infrastructure. With these assets, the Oswego Rail & Energy Park offers companies a unique opportunity to repurpose existing infrastructure and scale for diverse industrial uses.

Another unique feature of the property is its extensive rail infrastructure. The site includes more than six miles of private rail siding with direct CSX connectivity, making it one of the largest privately controlled rail assets in Upstate New York. Its strategic location is further strengthened by proximity to Micron’s future $31 billion semiconductor plant in Clay, with updated highway access via I-481. This positions the park as a regional logistics and industrial hub for both national and global supply chains.

One of the key assets of the property is its state-of-the-art malting facility. Spanning more than 40,000 square feet, it was specifically designed to produce high-quality malted grain and stands as the largest craft malt house east of the Mississippi River. This capability positions the park uniquely to support the booming craft brewing, distilling and specialty food sectors, while offering scalable production capacity for regional and national buyers.

“This strategically located site has the scale, the infrastructure, and the flexibility to become a catalyst for Oswego County’s economic future,” said Michael Tormey, owner, TorTrax LLC. “As TorTrax LLC and the Tormey Family, we are committed to restoring this property as a regional gateway for growth and opportunity.”

The Oswego Rail & Energy Park offers a wide range of leasable opportunities —including rail-served logistics and distribution, grain distribution, a two-million-gallon fuel distribution facility, a malthouse, more than 135,000 square feet of warehouse space, and advanced specialty fermentation and bio-based products. Together with the adjacent affiliated former 700,000-

square-foot warehouse, the site can deliver more than one million square feet of industrial capacity, making it an unparalleled location across Upstate New York.
