Compass Federal Credit Union donated a total of $16,250 to area schools in 2025 to help pay for hats, mittens, snow pants, shoes and other student clothing needs that become especially important during the winter months.
Each school in the Oswego and Fulton school districts received a check donation for the cause, along with Oswego’s Trinity Catholic School.
Since 2020, all schools within the Mexico Academy & Central School District and the Hannibal Central School District have also received check donations.
In total, Compass once again made donations to 22 schools within Oswego County.
“We’re proud to be able to continue this annual tradition,” said Compass CEO Jennifer Rupert. “While we always try to find new ways to give back to our great community, we find that helping our youth is particularly rewarding and this is why this program has become a staple. We hope the students that need it, can enjoy an extra bit of warmth on our behalf this winter.”
For the year, the Compass Federal Credit Union contributions committee helped to facilitate Compass FCU partnerships with several local organizations that help to serve those in the Oswego County community. Compass contributions for the past year reached nearly $30,000 in total.
Aside from monetary contributions, Compass continued its local food and toy drive efforts and coordinated its annual Charity Golf Outing, which supported youth sports in the area.
The credit union also debuted its Compass Cares program, which provided pre-packaged meals for those in need in the Oswego County community.
Meal packages, prepared by Compass staff, were placed in the foyer of each office. Those in need of a meal were able to select their choice, with no requirements needing to be met.
