Drive-thru coffee shop to open this fall on Oswego’s east side

By Stefan Yablonski

Oswego has more than a dozen dedicated cafes, bakeries and student hubs to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.

One more is perking up on the east side this summer.

The Port City is getting a 7 Brew. The coffee chain will replace the Popeyes.

7 Brew, a drive-thru beverage brand revolutionizing the coffee industry, dropped a future stand in Oswego at 240 Route 104 East recently. The rapidly expanding national chain is based in Arkansas.

More than your standard coffee stand, it offers more than 20,000 unique drink combinations. From the original Blondie, a caramel and vanilla breve, to infused 7 Energy drinks, smoothies, 7 Fizz Sodas, lemonades and teas. They specialize in highly customizable, sweet beverages and sugar-free or alternative milk options.

The site’s former structure was demolished to make way for the first 7 Brew location in Oswego County. The company operates other locations across Central New York, including spots in North Syracuse, Cortland, Rome, New Hartford and Auburn.

The new 7 Brew will be a 540 square feet premanufactured site.

It will add 50 jobs to the Oswego area. The business aims to open this fall.

As a drive-thru only business, customers don’t go inside. Instead, Brewistas (staff) come directly to their car window to take orders on tablets, allowing for quick service, according to a press statement.

Besides traditional coffee, 7 Brew offers signature items like “7 Energy” drinks (customizable Red Bull infusions) and “7 Fizz” (flavored sparkling water).
The menu is structured into seven categories, allowing customers to add any mix of dozens of flavor syrups, dairy alternatives and extra espresso shots (like the “Triple 7”).

On June 15, 2026, 7 Brew celebrated the opening of its 777th location.

7 Brew Coffee was founded in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017. It has expanded and now has a presence throughout the United States. The company’s name is derived from its original menu including 7 different coffee drinks, but this number has since expanded.

The Oswego location of Popeyes opened four years ago in September 2022.

Staff learned of the closure from corporate on March 14. Employees were given about 24 hours’ notice before the doors closed for good on March 15.
