KHOH gala scheduled April 26

Kristina’s House of Hope is celebrating the success of the last five years.

We’re so excited to be planning our second gala,” said Shelly Spaziano, president and founder of Kristina’s House of Hope. “Our KHOH friends and donors helped make our first gala a huge success. With your help, we can continue providing immediate and meaningful aid to women in need in Oswego County.”

Kristina’s House of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in February 2019. To date, they have assisted nearly 200 women in the community by finding them their own homes, jobs and reuniting them with loved ones.

The gala will be held April 26 at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St., from 5 to 10 p.m.

The (adults only) night of dinner and dancing will celebrate the organization’s fifth year.

Tickets are $35 each or $60 for two. They can be purchased at the Connection Point in Oswego.

We had our first gala in October of 2023. But there are a lot of other community events in the spring and fall. We didn’t want to take away or be too close to all the other parties that they have annually. So we waited for April. We’ll do it every year in April,” Spaziano explained.

It’s a formal dinner dance — but it doesn’t have to be tuxes — just dress up and have fun, she said.

Where else in Oswego is there a place to dress up, have dinner, dance and really just enjoy yourself? It’s not super fancy but all those ladies know how to cook. The food is good, it is a reasonable rate, it helps them as an organization and they decorate it so beautifully,” she said.

They are going to have 50-50 raffles to bid on.

Last year I think we had 30 or 40 baskets. People were very generous. So far we have had donations from places like Pathfinder and Oswego County Federal Credit Union and a couple of anonymous donors,” she said. “We are looking to have a wonderful party/entertainment for Oswego County or whoever wants to come. We will have a DJ that’s awesome.”

They’ll have some speakers … “it is a fundraiser — but the main thing is we want to have fun,” she said.
