Teti Bakery Ready to Cook in Oswego County

Italian bread producer ready to make dough in Volney

Teti Bakery USA recently purchased a mostly vacant 200,000 square-foot facility at 99 Harris St., town of Volney.

Teti Bakery USA, Inc., is the newly formed U.S. subsidiary of Teti Bakery, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Teti makes Italian bread products that are sold in supermarkets and restaurants. Its products are sold through such retailers as Wegman's Food Markets and Costco.

Teti plans to renovate the entire facility but will only occupy 40,000 square feet for its bakery, according to Operation Oswego County.

According to the company's estimates, the project will cost $5 million.

Part of the space will continue to be occupied by two existing tenants, Timberline Hardwood Floors and Flooring Shack.

Flooring Shack produces hardwood flooring and reportedly purchased direct from Timberline, a mill.

Teti is negotiating with a company that has expressed interest in leasing 50,000 square feet of space in the building for light manufacturing.

This is Teti's first bakery in the U.S. and marks the beginning of its expansion plans in the Northeastern U.S. and along the East Coast.

The project will create 63 jobs over the course of three years, according to OOC.

Key Bank and the County of Oswego Industrial Development Agency are providing funding assistance.
