Little Lukes Corrals Location in City of Fulton

New childcare center moves in at former restaurant site
By Hannah E. Smith

A Little Lukes Childcare Center is being constructed at the former site of the Golden Corral restaurant, 706 S. Fourth St., Fulton.

Darci Powers, executive director of Little Lukes, said plans call for an opening of a childcare and preschool program before summer.

The former restaurant is being completely renovated to meet childcare guidelines. Little Lukes has been considering additional centers in Oswego County for several years, Powers said.

There is a Little Lukes located at 10 Burkle St. in Oswego, while other centers exist in Pulaski, Dewitt and Radisson.

The newest Little Lukes in Fulton will provide care for approximately 70 children ranging in age from six months to 12 years, Powers said. The center includes care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and will offer before- and after-school programs.

The preschool, for ages 3 to 5 years, includes a certified special education teacher and in-house physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy in a “special class inclusion setting” or SCIS.

“We are excited to open Little Lukes in Fulton to meet the needs of children and families in our area,” Powers said.

It is accepting applications for children and expects costs will remain the same as the other centers.
