OI Selected to Make Belts for Government

Belts to be produced for U.S. Transportation Security Administration

Oswego Industries in Fulton has been selected to produce approximately 30,000 leather dress belts per year for VF Imagewear, to be used by the United States Transportation Security Administration for the next three years.

The new project, which is valued at over $200,000 annually, will create jobs for five to 10 people with disabilities through the organization’s vocational rehabilitation and supported employment programs.

The not-for-profit organization will be partnering with Adirondack Leather Products, which will cut the belts and ship them to Fulton.

Participants in OI’s programs will assemble the belts, package them, and ship them. The belts, which are part of the TSA uniform, will be worn by TSA officers across the country.

VF Imagewear combines the strength of its global parent company, VF Corporation, with the experience of being the leading supplier of uniform apparel to provide unique products and services.

Adirondack Leather Products has been manufacturing leather goods in the heart of Central New York since 1992.

OI has built a reputation over the past 40 years for dependable and reliable service to its customers. It offers a wide variety of manufacturing, warehousing, assembly, custodial, and shipping services to industry, medical, and government partners across the country.

As a private, not-for-profit community rehabilitation program, OI has been providing programs and services to adults with disabilities since 1969.
