Oswego Wire to Shut Down This Summer

Longtime wire manufacturer to vacate Scriba site

Oswego Wire, Inc. will be closing its doors this summer, according to published reports.

The Scriba-based facility, which employs 22 people, will shut down on the heels of a wave of layoffs that took place at the plant last September.

At that time, Oswego Wire laid off 53 workers—more than half its workforce—and moved some of its manufacturing operations to a plant in Indiana.

Oswego Wire’s parent company is Coleman Cable Co. of Waukegan, Ill.

The 34-acre plant is located off county Route 1.
